Bredesen Signs New Sex Offender Bill

The Cheatham County School Board Watchdogs announced on their site today that Governor Bredesen signed a new bill further restricting sex offenders from entering our schools without specific permission.  The Governor’s website states that the bill would narrow “exceptions that allow a registered offender access onto school grounds. The measure requires offenders with a child enrolled at a school to receive written permission from the school’s principal or administrator before picking the child up from school or attending parent-teacher conferences or events in which the child is a participant.”  BTW, if you haven’t checked the Watchdogs website, you should.  The comments sections are particularly interesting.
