Race to the Top Goals Announced

The Cheatham County School System has announced a new link to explore the ways in which the “Race to the Top” money will be used. Within this web page, five links are given. One is a “scope of work” document in .pdf format that gives a broader view of the main goals of the project money and how they are to be spent. Four more links are given for each fiscal year, namely 2010-2013, exploring how the money will be spent on a yearly basis. The basic scope document explores four main areas:
1. School Leadership Training,
2. STEM Academies for 7th and 8th Graders,
3. New Curriculum for 9th Graders who need extra instruction,
4. A Teacher Mentor Program.
