Gosh, I hope this is an April Fools Post on the part of the Cheatham County Watchdogs.  According to this Watchdogs post, Willie Johnson, the Pegram School Board Rep, brandished a duty weapon on Pegram Elementary School property.  Apparently, Officer Johnson [he is a Metro Police Officer] was allegedly attempting to demonstrate how easy it would be to enter PES through a side door with a weapon.  Dr. Webb has reportedly advised Officer Johnson to “never have his weapon on school premises again.”

Update, 4/02: The I-24 Exchange article referenced in the Watchdog article seems to shed further light on the incident involving Officer Johnson.  This article seems to indicate that Officer Johnson did not in fact brandish his weapon, and reportedly entered Pegram Elementary through a classroom door that was allegedly propped open.  In addition, Officer Johnson has reportedly apologized for not entering the school via the front office and signing in.
