City/County to Ban Fireworks?

Fireworks

Dickson County has banned fireworks until further notice…are we next?  That would seem the prudent thing to do.  Temperatures are going to remain in the 100′s until at least the Fourth of July, and the grass is certainly “crunchy” enough outside. Laurie Cooper, City Manager, has posted on the town’s facebook page as of Wednesday that, “We are urging extra caution with fireworks due to the extreme dryness. Keep a hose, a bucket, and a phone on site while you are shooting fireworks. Call the fire department at the first sign of a fire………..dont let it get out of hand, it will spread too quickly.”

If you spot a fire, please call our local fire department quickly.  Their numbers are 615-952-9965 and 615-952-2555.

Really? Fireworks need to be banned PERIOD during this dry/heat spell. I live in a very wooded area; I don’t about any of you, but I don’t want to have to worry about a fire ripping through our neighborhood because of some STUPID fireworks! PLEASE BAN FIRE WORKS IMMEDIATELY!!!!!
