McCarvers Dismissed Day After Webb Leaves Office

Dr. Webb had one final set of firings before he left office on Friday:  he fired both Dale and Crystal McCarver.  The McCarvers are both tenured employees with the school system, and they are reportedly already in the process exploring their legal options.  Dr. Webb sent a certified letter to the McCarvers on Saturday, one day after he finished his term as director.  Dale reportedly has been with the school system for 28 years, and Crystal has been with the school system for 15 years.

Update, 6/19, 11:22AM:  The Ashland City Times has an article about a former employee of the school system who was initially fired, but then allowed to resign.  This former employee, a male teacher, alleged sexual harassment against Crystal McCarver.  The harassment complaint was reportedly filed after the employee was allowed to resign.  The allegations were later deemed to have “no merit,”  but were reportedly recently brought to light through what the McCarvers are describing as a “political smear” by former director of schools Tim Webb.

    Dr Webb can do whatever he wants. HE IS THE DIRECTOR! NOT YOU! We lost Dr Webb, but we have Dr Curtis to lead us. WE WILL MOVE CHEATHAM COUNTY FORWARD WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. YOUR OPINION DOES NOT MATTER!

    The firing of the the McCarvers is the cherry on top of Dr. Webb’s retaliation ice cream sunday. I saw this coming as Mr. McCarver has been a burr under the director’s saddle since day one. Ms. Dodson’s firing is a surprise, she has always been considered a top notch educator. Maybe her politics didn’t suit.

    “Webb Was Right” is correct, Dr. Curtis is nothing more than Dr. Webb version 2.0. The current board along with Dr. Webb has provided us with lots of “change”. Maybe some good, maybe some bad. The problem is we are starving for “PROGRESS”. Promised but not yet served.
