Rainy Weather Today, Tomorrow
We have rainy weather headed our way! We’re due to have rainy weather headed our way tonight, tomorrow as well as possibly Tuesday as well. We currently have a Hazardous Weather Outlook issued for our area:
“DAY ONE…TODAY AND TONIGHT SCATTERED STRONG TO LOCALLY SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE SUNDAY INTO SUNDAY NIGHT. THE HIGHEST LIKELIHOOD FOR STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS WILL BE ALONG AND WEST OF THE I-65 CORRIDOR. GUSTY WINDS…SMALL HAIL…FREQUENT LIGHTNING…AND BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE STRONGEST STORMS.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE EACH DAY FROM MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. SOME STORMS MAY BE STRONG AND CONTAIN GUSTY WINDS…SMALL HAIL…FREQUENT LIGHTNING…AND BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL.”

A Special Weather Statement has now been issued warning our area of a coming storm:
“SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR CHEATHAM…DAVIDSON AND WILLIAMSON COUNTIES…AT 427 PM CDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A STRONG THUNDERSTORM 8 MILES EAST OF FAIRVIEW…OR 8 MILES WEST OF FRANKLIN…MOVING NORTHWEST AT 5 MPH. WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM. ALSO VERY HEAVY RAINFALL MAY REDUCE DRIVING VISIBILITIES.”
Update, 7/8, 4:57PM: We are under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 5:30PM.
Update, 7/8, 5:01PM: The Severe Thunderstorm Warning has expired.
Update, 7/8, 10PM: Our county is currently under a Flood Advisory, but please understand it’s for the Northwestern part of our county, and not for our area. Have you been like we have…hearing the thunder, but seeing no rain? Strange weather indeed.
