Local Resident Files Lawsuit Against County Police

Local resident, Joel W. Long II, has filed a two million dollar lawsuit against the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Department and the Ashland City Police Department, alleging abuse. Long has named several police officers and staff at the county jail as defendants. In the lawsuit, Mr. Long has alleged that he was beaten so severely while in police custody in August of 2011 he spent three days at Vanderbilt Hospital.
