The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for our area:

“THE COMBINATION OF SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE TO OUR NORTH AND HURRICANE SANDY OFF THE CAROLINA COAST WILL KEEP NORTH WINDS AND COLDER AIR SURGING SOUTH INTO THE REGION TONIGHT. MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES ARE EXPECTED WEST OF THE PLATEAU…WITH LOWS FALLING INTO THE MID 30S. THE STEADY WINDS WILL LIKELY PREVENT A WIDESPREAD FROST FROM FORMING…LOW LYING AND SHELTERED AREAS COULD SEE SOME FROST. MORE CLOUDS ARE EXPECTED IN THE PLATEAU REGION TONIGHT…WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR PATCHY FROST AS WELL.”

As Hurricane Sandy heads inland tomorrow, our thoughts and prayers are with those directly in the path of the storm.
